So you have a family history of diabetes?   Try the risk assessment to identify if you at risk. If you at risk, ask your GP to undertake a pathology test to determine if you have Diabetes.

Diabetes is no longer  a death sentence with extensive treatment options available


There are basically 3 types of Diabetes

Type 1 - usually results from an infection causing the pancreas not to produce insulin. 

Type 2 - The pancreas overtime slows down in the production of insulin. Treatment options can be simply diet and exercise then medications can be added.

Gestational Diabetes - mums to be have decreased amount of insulin production during pregnancy and require short term treatment until the baby arrives.
